Dear Ask The Doctor: I am a 50 yr old woman, I have been experiencing a great deal of numbness and tingling down my left arm, adn in my jaw and near my neck. I smoke, and I am over weight, I dont want to panic but should i go to the Er? No vision problems, or speech, just tingling in the face as weel
Dear Linda: I advise that you attend the Emergency Department urgently. The symptoms you describe may be suggestive of a stroke or mini-stroke. Stroke can be caused by an acute blockage or partial blockage of an artery supplying the brain, or a bleeding vessel in the brain. it is important to investigate these symptoms fully to exclude stroke or mini-stroke as a cause. Please seek medical help urgently. |
