Dear Ask The Doctor: Is there another way to check stents in my heart besides a cath? Dear James: The best way to check the status of your stents is through a cath procedure as that allows us to see the blood flow through your coronary arteries and whether the stent is in place. While you can essentially use a ct or a xray to see the position of the stent you will not be able to see the blood flow through the arteries. I hope this helps. All the best. |
