Dear Ask The Doctor: I Have had my stress test and MUGA the stress and cath. showed two 50 percent blockages. The MUGA showed an ejection Fraction of 32 percent. MY DR. want to do an implantable automatic Cardiac Defribilator. How soon after I started my new ACE and Blood pressure meds. I replaced Lopressor with Coreg and Lisinopril Hydroclorothyazide. I began on Friday night, June 10th 2011 How soon will I have this procedure? is my SCD Syndrome dangerous? Not quite sure how to properly phrase this I'm a brand new heart patient only 49 years old. Thanks for any input you can give.
Dear Leo: I understand your concern and worry. SCD is sudden cardiac death which can be fatal and thus you need the implantable cardiac defibrillator to protect you from that. There is no specific time period to have the procedure done. You can consult with your treating physician as to what he thinks best however the sooner the better. In the mean time continue with your medications. All the best. |
