My heart is fluttering

Dear Ask The Doctor: Why do I feel my heart fluttering every so often?

Dear Lee: The normal resting heart beats 60 to 90 times per minute. Your symptoms may be caused due to an abnormal rhythm of the heart. Your high blood pressure could be a contributing factor for the abnormal rhythm.

It is essential that you see your physician or cardiologist to check the rhythm of your heart by doing a electrocardiogram.
