Dear Ask The Doctor: My 15 yr old son ate three Ghost peppers a week ago. He is still having a irritated stomach and eating normal foods make his stomach hurt and feel irritated or a little nausea whatvnatural ways can we do to help heal dstomach?
Dear Gloria: The capsaicin found in chillies such as jalapenos and ghost chillies irritate the lining of the stomach, causing pain and temporary discomfort. Eating dairy such as ice cream or cold milk can help neutralize the effects of capsaicin. Also your son may try over the counter antacids like pepcid before and after meals. |
