Dear Ask The Doctor: My dad had hernia surgery on June 2009. 10 months later, after moving 2 wheelbarrows of dirt, he has pain. Coud he have hurt it again? How can pain be calmed down? Dear Maria: It is possible that your father has developed another hernia. If this is so he would ned to see his surgeon again and be prepared for another operation. Placing ice on the affected area may offer temporary pain relief until he is able to see his doctor. |
