Inoperable Hernia, Options?

Dear Ask The Doctor: I am a 53 year old woman. I have a bad hernia in my stomach. It goes from my upper stomach to my lower and hangs on my right leg. I am on oxygen, 3 liters day time and 4 liters bypass. I am a smoker, I know I'm trying to quit. I'm on a lot of meds. I'm also a bad diabetic. They say I am not eligible for any surgery. I also had congestive heart failure. What can be done about this hernia. Keeps me in a Oder all the time. Please help me with something good so I can quit suffering. I'm tired of the runarounds I'm getting and no solutions.
Dear Vita: There seems to be only one option for you. There is a device called an abdominal truss. This device is worn around the abdomen and helps to keep to prevent the hernia from protruding. In so doing it reduces the symptoms associated with the hernia. This device is often used in persons who are ineligible for surgical repair. |
