Dear Ask The Doctor: I had surgery on August 23, 2010 and I still have no feeling where they cut me is this normal and how long should it take before I regain this feeling again. Dear Kelly: It is not abnormal for you to have numbness in the skin immediately surrounding the incision. The "feeling' in that area of skin is unlikely to return as the nerves responsible for sensation have been permanently severed. The loss of sensation is not of great significance and you need not worry about it. |
