Dear Ask The Doctor: Hi, I had been recently diagnosed for internal piles. But now all of a sudden, my left testicle has started paining and this pain is quite acute. I have my exams in three days time and I cannot go to the doctor within this time. I am a healthy male, 32 yrs and just started having this problem. Pls tell me if this is serious and has to be dealt this medical treatment. Dear Subhas Kishor: Possible causes for this type of acute pain includes a strangulated hernia, testicular torsion or infection of the testis. In my opinion you should visit your doctor or an emergency for immediate diagnosis of the cause and treatment as this may lead to permanent damage and infertility.
