Dear Ask The Doctor: I am a 27 white male with no family history of medical problems or hernias. I have an almond shaped and sized protrusion located on my groin next to my left scrotal sack. It has grown in size over the past two weeks and is increasingly painful. It is not discolored and I have performed no strenuous activity. Could it be a hernia or something else? What? Thank you for your time.
Dear Ali: What you have described could indeed be a hernia. The other likely possibility is swollen lymph node in the groin. You should have the swelling examined by a suitable medical professional. A pelvic ultrasound will be able to rule out or verify the presence of a Hernia |
