Dear Akeem: It seems likely that you are suffering from symptoms of flu. In most cases this is caused by a viral infection and no medication is required other than over the counter pain killers. The flu will run its course in a week. I would advise that you keep yourself well hydrated and take adequate rest. If your symptoms worsen, you develop cough with phlegm or your fever does not subside with medication, you may then require antibiotics for possible underlying bacterial infection. |
