Dear Lovelle: The best way to lower blood pressure is through lifestyle and dietary changes. Exercise ie daily aerobic exercise for atleast 30 minutes a day has been proven to have a positive effect in lowering blood pressure. Also cessation fo smoking and excessive drinking is useful in mainting normal blood pressure. One should also modfy the diet to include more pottasium ( from banana, oranges, melons, kiwi etc) , decrease salt intake and intake of canned and precooked preserved foods, increase fibre through fresh vegetable and fruits and decrease red meat in the diet. All these measures can be useful and can be tried to decrease BP naturally. All the best. |
