Restarting Blood Pressure Meds after not taking the for awhile

Dear Ask The Doctor: I have not taken my bood pressure meds for about 2 months, can I just start taking it again? My readings are still high.

Dear Jule: I would not suggest taking the blood pressure medication on your own. You will require a check-up from your doctor to see whether the medication is appropriate for the current blood pressure symptoms you are experiencing. Your doctor may adjust the dose of the medication or prescribe an alternative if required.
