Hives on trunk that appears at night

Dear Ask The Doctor: Every night for the last 3 nights i have been breaking out in Hives in my midsection only, should i go to the doctor?

Honestly, you’re the first person I’ve heard who has hives only on the midsection AND it happens only at night. You may see a doctor to be sure it is just hives. Would you know of any triggers of the hives? Are there any rituals, medications, drinks (e.g. chamomile tea) that you usually do in the afternoon or at night? Have you changed laundry detergents? These too can cause hives. Tegretol and Phenobarbital can also cause skin rashes but this usually happens during the first months of use. It is important for you to see a doctor so the trigger can be identified and hence, avoided. Do not forget to mention your current medications, of course. I do hope this helps and take care always.
