Dear Lakshmi: For the management of hypothyroidism, the dosage of thyroid medications need to be individualised based on a variety of factors including the patient's age, body weight, cardiovascular status or any other concomitant medical conditions. Your hormone levels seem to fall within the normal range, however if you still experience symptoms the dose may be increased to control these symptoms as the main stay of hypothyroid treatment is to titrate the dose for a symptom free state while keeping the thyroid hormone levels within the normal range. Based on your weight, the dose of thyronorm may be increased up to 90 - 100 mcg maximum for symptom relief.
