I Have Excessive facial hair

Dear Ask The Doctor: Hi doctor, i am a female, 26 years old and suffering from hypothyroidism since i was 12, this hypothyroidism resulted into excessive facial hair, for which i took laser treatment from a quark who pretended to be a doctor,i took 4 sittings of laser treatment. It was of no use since no reduction in facial hair occuredand the hair increased in number as well as thickness. Now please suggest me what should i do since my hypothyroidism is under control now as i am taking proper medication. Now what should i do to to permanent remove facial hair

Dear Anushree: Though hypothyroidism causes development of facial hair, there are other disease that may also be a contributing factor. Polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD), oral contraceptive pills and excessive testosterone may also be a cause of excessive facial hair.
