Acetominophen overdose

Dear Ask The Doctor: I overdosed on tylenol (14,000 mg). I had thrown up alot on the first day. Now I'm experincing lack of appatite, pain in my right side of my chest, and a discomfort in my stomach. Do I have liver failure?

Dear Daniel: The maximum daily dose of Tylenol (Acetominophen) is 4,000mg/day, and you have exceeded this dose threefold. Toxicity is likely to occur with single ingestions greater than 250 mg/kg or those greater than 12,000mg over a 24-hour period. Please seek medical attention immediately at your local emergency department for urgent treatment.
