Dear Ask The Doctor: Im asthmatic and have never smoked before until lastnight. will this one off occasion seriously affect my asthma? or will it cause no harm? thanks Dear Steffan: Usually just one smoke will not cause any harm . However prolonged smoking or even passive exposure to smoke can negatively impact your asthma control and can lead to symptoms and deterioration. I thus advice you to refrain from the same.
