Dear Ask The Doctor: My boyfriend is allergic to pain medications (everything from aspirin to ibuprofen, the mildest thing he can be given is morphine). He is extremely healthy, but his good habits aren't enough to prevent constant headaches. Are there any natural pain killers that are safe to try?
Dear Jennifer: In the view that he is allergic to most of pain killer medications for headaches, it is recommended to emphasize preventative strategies as: he should making sure that he is sleeping enough hours, he should avoid stress, wine, chocolate and cheese, try to have no tension sleeping positions and a use good pillow. He may try relaxation techniques as: yoga, meditation, tai chi or simply walking for about 35-45 minutes at least three times a week. |
