Steriods after Abotion?

Dear Ask The Doctor: I just had an abortion over a week ago. I had an allergic reaction to the doxy (antibiotic) they gave me and broke out in rash all over my body. It is extremely itchy so I went into urgent care where the doc prescribed Methylprednisolone (steroid) for the rash. I did not tell him I just had an abortion, so I just want to know if taking steroids like this would be ok so soon after an abortion. Also, would it effect my future child birth capability?

Dear Jing: There should be no issue with taking the steroid at this time. Methylprednisolone will not have any effect on the recent abortion or on your future child bearing capabilities.
