Skin Fungal Infections: Common Remedies

Dear Ask The Doctor: Since a few month I've an allergy on my middle finger. It firstly appeared after I fingered (sexual) my girlfriend. That time she was taking the pill. What medicine can your recommend me to try?
Your rash on the middle finger could be a lot of things but it looks more like a fungal infection. You may try over the counter creams or ointment which contains Clotrimazole or Miconazole (antifungal). There should be instructions in the box so I suggest follow those. As much as possible, keep it dry because fungal infections worsen in moist conditions. If it does not go away after 2-3 weeks or if it comes back, I suggest you consult a doctor. There is very little chance that the pill has something to do with the rash, it is very unlikely. I do hope this helps. Take care.
