Rash on my face: is this herpes?

Dear Ask The Doctor: Hey. I woke up Saturday morning with two itchy bumps just below the side of my mouth, and it looks like it has spread a little bit since then. I read about herpies, and about rashes that itching pimples but I'm not sure what it could be, because it doesn't look like pimples it's pretty dry and really red. I'm freaking out about it, and it would be really helpful if I could please get some answers about it. Thankyou.

Dear Samara: It is difficult for me to say exactly what it is without having a look at the rash but it seems to be a herpes outbreak ie cold sores. You can apply zovirax cream to the affected area .It should help. All the best.
