2 MRI Scan's in one Week

Dear Ask The Doctor: My son recently dislocated his knee.The waiting time for NHS MRI scan was approx 4 weeks,so i went private and had a MRI scan done yeasterday.Today i have received a NHS appointment for a MRI scan done and was wondering if it is safe to have 2 MRI scans done in the space of 7 days,as i would like him to have this other scan done if it is safe to do so?

Dear David: MRI scans do not contain radiation and it would be safe to have 2 scans within the space of 1 week.
