Suspicious Mole which is changing: What should i do?

Dear Ask The Doctor: Hi my name is Jenna.. I am 20 years old.. I used to tan ALOT.. I know it was a bad idea.. I regret it.. But lately I've been noticing some changes in a mole I have.. The color pigment is someone running I guess you would say.. It's only the size of about a bobby pin head but still worries me a little bit.. I enclosed a picture.. Thanks for your time.

Dear Jenna:  Per se the picture of the mole doesnt look suspicious. However since you have been tanning and exposing yourself to the sun which is a risk factor along with changes occuring in the mole which you have noticed, I would highly recommend that you see a dermatologist for a possible biposy of the mole to rule out any malginant condition. I hope this helps. Also while going out int he sun apply a sunblock with a spf of 15 or greater. All the best.
