E-cigarettes (Vapor Cigarettes) |
|
Dear Ask The Doctor: I bought and E cigarette and it has arrived. There is no smoke (just vapor) no carcinogens (just nicotine). I've looked at all the online opinions, saw it the Doctors TV show and noone has asked this question and I need to know, - Is the vapor safe to my lungs? does it evaporate before it gets to your lungs? No info on the effect of the vapor on your lungs. Dear Cassey: I would certainly agree that having nicotine containing vapor instead of smoke produced by combustion going into your lungs would be better in decreasing the carcinogens and other toxins that are contained in the cigarettes. The type of product that you mention would still give you the nicotine like any other source such as Nicotine Patches or inhalers, however it has not been fully tested by the FDA and certainly it would take quite a few time to get some results from research. |
