Dear Ask The Doctor: I saw my doctor yesterday because I am caughing up lime green stuff. I have no temp. She said that just because it is that color, it doesn't mean that it is bacterial and prescribed no anticiotics. She said it is just a virus.
Dear Nancy: Your doctor has put you on antibiotics because most viral infection may subsequently make you prone to get an overlying bacterial infection. Also your symptom of greenish colored phlegm and history of asthma is an indication to start antibiotics. |
