Dear Ask The Doctor: Hi, I am 16 years old and vary curious with this small hard bump i found on in the sac. I am not sure if its attached to the testicular. When I touch it there is pain or if my thigh hits it it hurts. Looking at the testicle itself you can't notice it but once you feel around I notice it. What is the problem, should i be worried? Dear Brandon: You should have that lump looked at immediately. There are several possibilities. The most serious of which is testicular cancer. Other possibilities include varicocele (collection of blood vessels) or spermatocle (overgrowth of vessels that transport sperm). The lump is most likely a varicocele which is benign and is normally removed by a simple surgical procedure. |
