Dear Ask The Doctor: If person has Hypothyroidism then is there any profession where she couldn't work at? Could she work as radiographer?
Dear Ruta: There is no contraindication to any profession if a person is suffering from hypothyroidism. Yes, she could work as a radiographer.
Some important points to keep : 1) It is important to inform the relatives about the disease and ask them to get their TSH done because certain thyroid diseases tend to run in families. 2) Inform all new doctors and pharmacists that you have hypothyroidism and also the drugs and dosages you are on. 3) Test TSH levels every year. Take care. |
