Vertigo during pregnancy: is it normal?

Dear Ask The Doctor: I am 20 weekd pregnant.. Have been expierencing vertigo for 2 weeks now.. Medicine that the doc gave me is not helping.. Past 24 hours I have developed a migrane along with the vertigo.. Is this normal? What can I do to help?

Dear Kristie: While this may not be a worrying symptom i would still like to rule out any pre eclampsia or eclampsia condition in which ones blood pressure rises along with other signs like headache and seizures. This could also just be a simple case of dehydration and weakness . Kindly see you obstetrician for a more indepth and detailed examination along with a blood pressure check . I hope this helps.
