Dear Ask The Doctor: I have been having sharp pains in my head for the past few days, I haven't had a headache though. They come and go, some hurt worse than others, and usually only last a few seconds. Today I decided to write down the time they happened, and I had 26 sharp pains in one hour. What could be the cause of this?
Dear Ashley: Primary headache like migraine and tension-type headache are the most common causes of headaches. Since you are experiencing multiple episodes in an hour, I would suggest a neurological consult and a CT brain to rule out any serious causes of headache. |
