Dear Ask The Doctor: HI, please can you give me some advice. Around a year and a half ago i started to get these lumps around my feet and ankles which would come and go. They now are on my legs and above my knees and are quite painful and dont seem to go. I've been back and fourth to my doctors and had blood tests, chest X ray and they also cut a part out of one of the nodules for testing but no outcome. Please get back to me soon. Thanks.
Dear Clare: It is difficult for me to say what is the cause of the painful leg nodules. There are several cause of painful leg nodules, nodular vasculitis, erythema nodosum, thrombophelbitis, polarteritis nodosa, thrombangitis, nodular erythrocyanosis and dermatifibroma could all cause painful nodules in the leg. I would suggest that you consult a dermatologist. A skin biopsy may be helpful in determining the cause of the lesion, take care. |
