Pain in the left side of groin

Dear Ask The Doctor: I woke up at 5 am with a pain in my left groin , seems to have gone now but occasionally reoccurs
Dear Barbara: There could be several causes of pain in the left groin. Some of the common causes are musculo-skeletal strain, urinary tract infection and kidney stones. Try taking anti-inflammatory medication like advil or motrin to see if this relieves your pain. If the pain increases in intensity, ultrasound, IVP, x-ray and urinalysis may be required to diagnose the underlying pathology. I wish you well, take care. |
