Dear Jakyra: Pus and scabs on the scalp could be due to eczema. Usually shampoos containing salicylic acid, ketoconazole, zinc pyrithione and selenium sulfide may help. Also medicated shampoos should be used daily until symptoms improve and then about twice per week to keep symptoms under control.Over-the-counter cortisone creams and anti-fungal creams may also help improve symptoms. If these do not help, your doctor may prescribe oral medication, Lamisil to treat scalp eczema.
