CA-MRSA |
|
Dear Ask The Doctor: I had a CA-MRSA infection last year. Fairly certain I have it again. I don't have insurance. Is there anything I can do, at home, that can treat it? Dear Domenica: Unfortunately most infections caused by MRSA need antibiotics to be treated; however some infections that show as a superficial abscess might only need to be drained. In any case, an evaluation done by a health care provider is needed, especially since you have a history of Community Acquired MRSA. In the meantime avoid touching constantly the compromised area, wash your hands constantly, keep your wound covered and sanitize your linens to avoid re infection. I wish you a prompt recovery |
