Dear Ask The Doctor: I had surgery on my elbow 18 months ago their is still a scab on my elbow what should I do? This surgery was to drain my elbow it did not scab over until six months because part of the wound was left over to drain. What should I do? Don Sprayberry
Dear Don: A scab suggests that the wound has not completely healed. This can occur if fluid continues to drain from your elbow or if the wound is infected. You should have your orthopedic surgeon reassess your elbow and provide you with the necessary remedy. |
