You may need to have Typhoid fever and Hepatitis A shots. Typhoid fever shots can protect you from typhoid fever for at least 2 years. Hepatitis A shot is a 2-step option. One shot gives you protection for 1 year; if you choose to have another shot 3 months after the first, you are protected from Hepatitis A for a lifetime. You may want to get a flu shot too just to be sure. You may also want to consult your doctor before leaving and ask about your Hepatitis B status and other routine immunizations.
