Dear Ask The Doctor: My pointer finger has been infected for little over a week now and antibiotic otment and proxcide doesnt seem to be helping its seems to be making it worse with the pain and swelling and reddness i was wondering what i should do? I would suggest you have it checked by a doctor. The antibiotic ointment may not be helping because it may not be a bacterial infection, but a fungal infection instead. You may need prescription topical treatment for that and if you continue applying the ointments you have, it may do more harm than good. I do hope this helps and take care always. |
