Dear Ask The Doctor: Hello ian 58years old, my left foot is swell, and always has a funguston it,i would scrud it about omce a week, please tell me what it is, how i got that and what i can do about it thanks.
You could be having a fungal infection with an additional bacterial infection. I would suggest you see a doctor in person because you may need prescription creams and oral antibiotics for that. Fungal infection of the foot is common because fungus thrives in moist conditions. If you wear socks all the time and you don’t wipe your feet very dry before putting socks on, that could predispose to develop fungal infections. It is also possible you have contracted it from someone else. Get yourself treated and always wipe your feet very dry, especially the areas in between your toes, before putting your socks on. I do hope this helps. |
