Dear Ask The Doctor: I was Biten by my 4 months old dog who have given the first anti rabies deworming vaccination about 24 days ago I also taken the anti rabies vaccination 50 days ago must i take the vaccination shots again ? Dear Aditya: I would suggest you see your doctor and ask what kind of rabies vaccination you had. There are several kinds of rabies shots so your doctor should know what kind of rabies shot was given to you. If you had 5 rabies shots all given within a span of 4 weeks, then you don’t need rabies shots and you should be protected from rabies for 5 years. If you are not sure, the possibility of needing additional shots for rabies is likely. I do hope I have answered your question and take care always. |
