Dear Ask The Doctor: I have pain in my lower right side and the numness goes down my right side through my buttocks and thigh to my knee what can cause this?
Dear James: The causes of back pain are numerous and is really difficult to diagnose. Back pain may be due to musculo-skeletal strain, nerve impingement due to a herniated disc or sciatica, osteo arthritis, trauma, infection and cancer.
If the pain does not subside by  regular measures like pain-killers, rest and massage or if you develop symptoms like fever, weight loss, unable to control bladder and bowel movements, you may need to see your doctor immediately. |
