Undescended or Retractile testes.

Dear Ask The Doctor: Hi my Husband has a right testicle that pulls up like it hasn't dropped properly is this normal as he has had it all his life Thank you

Dear Adam: Your husband may either be having something call retractile testes ie the testes tend to go up into the spermatic cord when stimulated or he may be having undescended testes in which case there would be no testicle present in the scrotum. If this is a case of retractile testes then there is surgery that can be done to fix the testes in the scrotum and the same goes for undescended testes. However it is important to note that undescended testes are more prone to cancer formation and thus it is imperative that they be brought down into the scrotum and fixed. I would thus ask you to seek medical help in person to further tackle this condition. All the best.
