Bouts of feeling cold - could it be due to medicines that I'm taking for ADD?

Dear Ask The Doctor: I have had an issue of not being able to stay warm even though it is not cold inside or outside. My feet and hands will go numb from time to time and I am tired all the time. Just today I have had two spells of breaking out in to cold sweat and feeling sick to my stomach and feeling light headed, it lasts for a few minutes and goes away. I dont have any medical insurance so i have not went to the doctor. Can you tell me what this might be?

Dear Jodi: You have mentioned that you are on Adderall 30mg for ADD, there is a slight possibility that the symptoms you are experiencing is caused by the drug. However, hypothyroidism and anemia may also cause similar symptoms. I do understand that the lack of medical insurance is a problem but in my opinion it is important to consult a doctor at an earlier stage than when the problem become more severe.
