Dear Zachary: I do understand your concern about drug interaction and worsening of your asthma. Klonopin (clonazepam) and celexa (citalopram) may increase the risk of respiratory depression in patients taking these two in combination. I would advise that you regularly follow up with your doctor, checking for any signs suggesting of respiratory or CNS depression. I would also advise that you avoid any hazardous activities requiring mental alertness or motor co-ordination when on these medication. I would advise that you do not stop these medications on your own and always consult your doctor if you experience and side-effects. |
