Dear Ask The Doctor: Hi, a friend of mine is in an awful custody battle. The new wife was seen doing cocaine about 1-2 years ago. Can a hair follicle test be done to prove that she has done cocaine then? Dear Susan: A hair follicle test can detect cocaine for as long as 3 months from previous use. If she did not use any cocaine for the past year it will be unlikely she will test positive for cocaine now. I do not know of any other test that can prove she has been a cocaine user over a year ago. I hope this helps. |
