Head has been becoming heavier

Dear Ask The Doctor: My fiance's head has been becoming heavier, for no apparent reason. I dont mean feeling heavy, but physically heavy. Its like having a rock laying on you. Is there any reason for this? He hasnt been gaining any weight.
