Dear Ask The Doctor: Doctor Does having metastatic prostate cancer hinder 'other' surgeries such as heart bypass surgery? Thanking you, Phil Gori
Dear Phil: In general, cancer changes the normal functioning of the body with or without metastases. So metastatic prostate cancer will affect any surgical procedure you undergo. However, it does not necessarily prevent you from having surgery. Your surgeon and anesthesiologist will tailor the procedure to ensure that it is safe for you. |
