Dear Ask The Doctor: Lately, for about the past month, I have been having a phenomenon occur. I keep hearing (or noticing) the same phrase when it is said (on TV, radio, in person), but then immediately after when I try to repeat it I can only get about halfway or two thirds of the way through the phrase and then my speech turns to gibberish and I cannot remember the phrase. I have also occasionally had a difficult time reading and comprehending text at first attempt, but this quickly goes away within 4-5 seconds and I can read and comprehend normally. This especially happens directly after the phenomenon where I hear the phrase. Sometimes I know that the phrase (or one very close to it) was said and other times it was not said at all. Sometimes I even hear inanimate objects making a sound and then in my head I hear the phrase, but not as if the object were saying it. What could this be a possible sign of? Should I be concerned?
