Dear Ask The Doctor: I have been smoking pot occasionally for 6 months. I did it once or twice a week, sometimes not even once. One time,me and my friends smoke too much(at least it was too much for me) and I got this panic attack. None of them felt like me. I panicked over some sound and the feeling of panic and feeling that I was going insane went through the night. I couldn't feel my hands, my heart was beating fast, I couldn't look at people's faces, computer monitor or a TV was too close to my eyes, and when we were going back home I couldn't remember how did I got home so fast, like I was sleeping while walking. 2-3 months have passed after that first panic attack and now I occasionally get same feelings, without a reason or when I'm talking and thinking about my previous panic attacks. What is wrong? Is this mental disorder? If it is, what is its name? How long will this feeling last? Help. Thank you.
