Dear Ask The Doctor: I know a person that has a mental illness but i cannot pin point it he is in his early 50's. He is a compulsive liar, loves to seek attention and does things to his children to annoy them on purpose, he is says one day that he hates something then another day he would say he loves what he just said that he hated. He does not drink or is invlolved with drugs he loves to inform his wife and children (two sons) about everything even if he knows they know about it, he watched tv all the time and wants to know everything thats going on. He has no friends and does not like talking to other people he does really know in fact when people come to visit he goes in his room sometimes to hide. His children are always against him because of his behaviour. He also does bnot show his emotion towards others and when his angry he says his going to cut his throat but to me it seems like he just wants people to feel sorry for him ... what kind or mental problem does he have ?
