Patient :My 18 year old daughter had an ultrasound and was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst. She has many of the classic symptoms of a cyst but had been wrongly diagnosed with UTIs for the past three months. She was referred to a gynecologist but the appointment is not for a week. How worried should I be about cancer for her? She was sick a couple of weeks ago with a sore throat and swollen glands and the doctor thought it was mono. It wasn't but she received antibiotics and steroids which seem to have improved that situation.
